Senior Project Manager

Bayside Energy Solutions™ is a growing renewable energy services company seeking experienced talent to join our team. We are investing in experienced renewable energy professionals with prior high level project management skills in the utility-scale renewable energy industry. We are devoted to providing the BESt overall employee experience in the industry. 

Principal Responsibilities

  • Ability to manage, mentor, and train junior level staff members.
  • Assist clients in the project development and project management of renewable energy projects throughout the project life cycle – from development through construction to operational hand-off.
  • Provide recommendations and technical support on engineering reviews, strategic plans, and projects.
  • Resolve complex construction project related issues and disputes.
  • Manage the assembly of project proposals and procurement/EPC request for proposals including scope of work, technical exhibits, RFP coordination, proposal reviews and contract negotiations.
  • Assist Bayside Energy Executives in business development efforts to grow the business including corporate planning, business development, client relations, proposal development, and attendance at conferences and workshops.
  • Continuous client outreach to develop long term repeat client relationships. 
  • Review and manage overall project financials of multiple construction projects.
  • Establish and manage the work plan, staffing, and budgeting for each phase of project execution, including design, engineering, procurement, and construction, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
  • Establish, review, and manage construction budgets, maintain construction schedules, scopes of work, respond to RFI’s, submittals and change orders.
  • Prepare, track, and manage updates to the project and schedule including engineering, procurement, and construction activities. 
  • Lead and manage external engineering disciplines and deliverables as required including design kick-offs, project document organization, agency filings, meetings, and email response.
  • Ensure project quality control and construction safety practices are met.
  • Assist Executives in EPC bidding and contract planning.
  • Ability to manage due diligence reviews. 
  • Lead project update meetings.
  • Assist with internal policies and procedures.
  • Manage collection and organization of project documentation, materials, and equipment.
  • Assistance with sales and business development tasks.
  • Coordinates the external bidding process required to procure goods and services necessary for all phases of project execution, including preparation of bid packages, evaluation of proposals and contract negotiations. 
  • Perform commercial and technical contract reviews for construction and procurement contracts.
  • Review and manage corporate and project-based QA/QC to ensure processes are being met and thoroughly documented.
  • Ability to clearly present the Company and business concepts to both internal and external customers. Must maintain calm and effective communication, especially during high stress situations.
  • Believe and practice companies core values and principles.
  • Travel as needed to perform required activities.
  • Assist with day-to-day operations of a growing company.

Qualifications

  • Prior leadership experience managing engineering and construction of renewable energy projects is required for this position.  
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in engineering and construction of renewable energy projects. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management with a PE and/or PMP preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Demonstrates the ability to manage multiple tasks within a project and multiple projects from conception to completion. 
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Extensive experience with project risk management and mitigation.
  • Strong understanding and ability to use project scheduling software and methodology. 
  • Ability to manage project financial reports and prepare cash flow forecasts.
  • Expertise with contracting procedures, project contracts and negotiation, engineering practices, construction techniques, technologies, and regulatory issues required. 
  • Effective team leadership skills.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of basic computer and industry specific technical software.
  • Ability to travel, and work on remote projects. 
  • Self-starter and comfortable in an environment with a relatively lean staff. 
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
