Project Manager

Bayside Energy Solutions™ is a growing renewable energy consulting services firm looking for the right candidate to join the team. We are seeking an experienced renewable energy professional with prior project management experience in the utility-scale renewable energy industry. We are devoted to providing the best customer experience in the renewable energy industry and the Project Manager position is essential to that commitment.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Manage and provide mentorship to junior level staff members.
  • Assist clients in the project development and project management of renewable energy projects throughout the project life cycle – from development through construction to operational hand-off.
  • Provide recommendations and technical support on engineering reviews, strategic plans, and projects.
  • Assemble project proposals and procurement/EPC request for proposals to including scope of work, technical exhibits, RFP coordination, proposal reviews and contract negotiations.
  • Assist Bayside Energy Executives in business development efforts to grow the business including corporate planning, business development, client relations, proposal development, and attendance at conferences and workshops.
  • Continuous client outreach to develop long term repeat client relationships.
  • Establish and oversee the work plan, staffing, and budgeting for each phase of project execution, including design, engineering, procurement and construction, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
  • Establish, review and manage construction budgets, maintain construction schedules, scopes of work, respond to RFI’s, submittals and change orders.
  • Prepare updates to the project and schedule including engineering, procurement and construction activities. 
  • Manage external engineering disciplines and deliverables as required including design kick-offs, project document organization, agency filings, meetings, and email response.
  • Manage external requests, tracking of RFIs, and other client requests.
  • Assistance with sales and business development tasks.
  • Coordinates the external bidding process required to procure goods and services necessary for all phases of project execution, including preparation of bid packages, evaluation of proposals, contract negotiations and recommendations to senior management. 
  • Perform commercial and technical contract reviews for construction and procurement contracts.
  • Ensure corporate and project-based QA/QC processes are being met and thoroughly documented.
  • Travel as needed to perform required activities.
  • Assist with day-to-day operations of a growing company.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience managing engineering and construction of renewable energy projects is required for this position.  
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering and construction of renewable energy projects.
  • BS in Engineering or Construction Management required with a PE and/or PMP preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks within a project and multiple projects from conception to completion. 
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to clearly present the Company and business concepts to both internal and external customers. 
  • Experience with project risk management and mitigation.
  • General understanding and ability to use project scheduling software and methodology.
  • Ability to interpret project financial reports and prepare cash flow forecasts.
  • Familiarity with contracting procedures, project contracts and negotiation, engineering practices, construction techniques, technologies, and regulatory issues required. Green hydrogen experience is a plus.
  • Ability to travel, and work on remote projects. 
  • Self-starter and comfortable in an environment with a relatively lean staff. 
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
